Community Corrections Division

Telework Details
This position may eventually be allocated for telework up to one day each week. You will be required to commute to a DOC facility or field office as business requires, which may include components of the onboarding and training process. Details will be provided before hire.

Our agency is looking to fill a full-time, permanent Office Assistant (OA3) vacancy within the Community Corrections Division. This position works for the Burien Field Office located at 15111 8th Avenue SW, Burien, WA 98166.
Under general supervision from the Community Corrections Supervisor (CCS), this position performs file management and routine, advanced clerical support tasks for the CCS, Community Corrections Officers (CCOs), and the field unit. Working independently, you will perform a variety of complex clerical projects and assignments and perform duties involved with working at the reception desk. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Duties
Provide front desk reception on a rotational basis.
- Greet and direct clients, general public, and/or stakeholders to the appropriate staff.
- Manage a multi-line phone system.
- Manage office equipment and supplies.
- Ensure the public entry door is opened at 8:00 am, and closed and locked at 5:00 pm.
- Database entry and retrieval from various systems, such as OMNI (Offender Management Network Information) and OnBase.
- File and archive closed DOC field files.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Six months of clerical and/or customer service experience.
- And a basic level of proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Must respect and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to assist individuals with various criminal backgrounds.
- Ability to navigate internal databases.
- Ability to proofread written material and identify and correct errors in sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly to staff, supervised individuals, public, and stakeholders.
- Two years of clerical experience to include a basic level of proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
